LORD CAITHNESS' TRAVEL
1.
It might be helpful if I summarise the conclusions you reached this morning with Lord Caithness concerning future travel plans.
2.
3.
Planning is already well in hand for two confirmed trips:
Hong Kong (14-21 September).
Noumea for the South Pacific Conference plus Fiji and Tonga (19 October-2 November).
Lord Caithness is keen to visit Japan and Korea in December. I think Mr Davies already has action in hand on this.
4. Priorities for 1991 are as follows:
Australia and New Zealand, ideally
-
but not necessarily - linked to the proposed Heads of Mission Conference in Canberra;
ASEAN, in particular Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore. We might look at the option of a trip to these three in January 1991;
/- China
