Governor and Lady Wilson; or would he like to have a slightly expanded version by inviting the Chief Secretary, the Senior British Trade Commissioner and the Senior British
Representative at UKREP JLG, together with their wives?
3. I do not think that there is any need to trouble the
Minister about the various other points raised in the
Governor's telegrams. Lord Caithness indicated at our
meeting last week that he would be content for the Governor
to invite two or three Senior Officers of the Gurkha Field
Force, with wives, to lunch on Sunday 16 September.
4. On a separate point, you will see, because of
accommodation difficulties, it will be necessary for me to
base myself at Government House for the weekend rather than
at Fanling Lodge. I hope that the Minister would not mind this. Should he require my presence at any time over the
weekend, I would of course make myself immediately
available; and I would in any case propose to join the party
for at least some of the weekend activities contained in the
programme.
