VISIT OF MR DAVID DELL, CHIEF EXECUTIVE OF THE BRITISH OVERSEAS TRADE BOARD, TO HONG KONG ON 4 AUGUST 1990

Mr Dell is to make a short visit to Hong Kong during his Far East visits at the end of July/beginning of August. The purpose of his visit to Hong Kong is two-fold 1) visit the Hong Kong Trade Development Council's Headquarters II) meet with senior representatives of the HK Government, and prominent businessmen (these engagements are still to be arranged). To cover all eventualities, I should be grateful if recipients of this minute could put in hand briefing for the visit.

The briefing should begin with points to raise/defensive points, and background. The background brief should be short covering only the essential facts. As it is a very short visit, grateful if briefs could be 1-1 pages in length at the most.
