VISIT OF MINISTER FOR TRADE TO HONG KONG:
24
VISIT OF SIR JAMES CLEMINSON, BOTB CHAIRMAN TO HONG KONG, 29 SEPTEMBER, 3 OCTOBER 1990
The Minister for Trade and Sir James Cleminson will be visiting Hong Kong between the above dates.
The Ministers' visit is primarily a trade promotional visit, concentrating on the developments relating to the airport project, and other current project business being pursued by the UK. The programme has not been firmed up yet but will include calls on the Governor and senior members of the Hong Kong Government; and possibly calls on an electricity generating company, a bus company and Cathay Pacific.
Sir James Cleminson's visit is a trade promotional visit, which will also include a day visit to Shenzhen China, during which he will visit United Biscuits, and a Racal jv for servicing the offshore oil industry.
To cover all eventualities, I should be grateful if recipients of this minute could put in hand separate briefing for each visit.
The briefing should begin with points to raise / defensive points, and background.
