MR MAUDE'S VISIT TO HONG KONG, 7-11 APRIL 1990

1.

I attach a list of the briefs which will be required for

Mr Maude's visit and a copy of the outline programme. The list of briefs has been approved by Mr Maude.

2.

Mr Maude has indicated that the briefs can in most cases be very short as he is up to date on most Hong Kong subjects but that he will need a detailed defensive brief on the nationality package.

I should be grateful if those responsible for drafting the

background briefs could also provide a list of objectives and, where appropriate, a line to take for the press brief.

We will need to submit the briefs by Friday 30 March. I should therefore be grateful if you could let me have your contribution by c.o.p. on Wednesday, 28 March.
