VISIT OF DR DAVID OWEN TO HONG KONG

1 I spoke to Dr Owen's secretary, Maggie Smart

(0442 872617) on 19 January. I undertook to send a reminder to Hong Kong about the programme and I added Dr Owen's request to look over the Centres at Shenghen, a suggestion which, I think, the Secretary of State made when he met Dr Owen on 17 January.

2. Miss Smart said that Dr Owen was keen to have a thorough briefing before his departure on 1 February. He is not available on 26 and 31 January. I undertook to seek advice on how best to arrange this and let Miss Smart know.
