I should be grateful if you would arrange for desk officers to bring the schedule up to date and return it by 21 November for inclusion in the December 1990 schedule. I regret that, due to printing deadlines, any returns received after this date cannot be included in the following schedule. Visits completed before 1 December need not be included. Please ensure that amendments are legible (ie typed or in block capitals) and that all additional entries are set out in alphabetical order of country.

2. All inward and outward visits by Heads of Government and Ministers, outward visits by the Lord Mayor of London, the Speaker of the House of Commons and inward visits by members of foreign Royal Families should be included. (Royal visits overseas will be dealt with by Protocol Department). Firm visits should be listed irrespective of timescales but agreed visits should be listed up to six months ahead. The status of the visit should be recorded under one of the following categories:
(i) Agreed agreed in principle by both the host and the visitor; and
(ii) Firm date fixed.
3. The purpose of this visit should be recorded in the column headed Type of Visit'. This is intended primarily to show in
