ARCHBISHOP OF CANTERBURY'S VISIT TO HONG HONG, KOREA AND MALAYSIA

1. I attach a copy of a letter from Canon Roger Symon at Lambeth Palace, giving details of Archbishop Runcie's forthcoming visit to Hong Kong, South Korea and Sabah in Malaysia, and asking us to supply him with appropriate advance briefing (by 12 September).

2.

As you may know, the Archbishop and his wife will be stopping briefly with Sir David Wilson in Hong Kong and with HMA in Seoul (he will also be staying in transit in a Singapore hotel on two nights in September).

3. Could you please put Canon Symon's fairly detailed requirements - see his second paragraph in hand as soon as possible? I shall let him know, in Miss Spencer's absence on leave, that the briefing material is in preparation.
