The Irish Embassy presents its compliments to the Protocol

Department of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and has

the honour to raise the following matter.

H.E. The President of Ireland and Mrs Hillery will be

paying an official visit to Japan for the enthronement

of the Emperor. The Itinerary will necessitate a

transit through London on both the outward and the

return journies. In addition, there will be a one-

day stopover in Hong Kong. The Embassy requests that the appropriate courtesies be provided by the Hong

Kong authorities.
