Taiwanese Visitors Entering China through Hong Kong

As regards the proportion of Taiwanese visitors entering China through Hong Kong, Immigration Department records show that in the first half of 1988 a total of 494,200 visit

visit permits were issued to Taiwanese visitors. During the same period, 121,200 Taiwanese visitors departed *for China through various Immigration check points, representing 25% of the total number of permits issued. Some 50,800 also departed Hong Kong for Macau, a number of whom would have entered China from there, although the exact number is not known.
