Dear Secretary of State
On behalf of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce, may I say how grateful we are to you for addressing Hong Kong's business community at our subscription luncheon on 15th January.
The thrust of your address was most welcome to our membership as a commitment of British support for pragmatic solutions to the several problems facing Hong Kong and which you covered in your speech. You can be assured that our Chamber will continue, in a supporting role, to help to achieve the objectives we all strive for.
Thank you again for speaking to us and for agreeing to answer questions from the floor. Should you wish, on any future occasion, to use the Chamber again as a platform we would be only too pleased to offer you a similar facility.
With best wishes,
Yours sincerely
