Secretary of State's Visit to Hong Kong
I have discussed the questions in your minute of 8 January with the Secretary of State. He would be happy to see Dame Lydia Dunn briefly on the afternoon of Saturday 13 January and would welcome an informal discussion with the Governor and the Chief Secretary on the same afternoon. He would be grateful if Sir Alan Donald and Mr Galsworthy could both be included in the latter meeting. The Secretary of State would also like to see one of the units on border duty after lunch on 14 January. I am sure that he would also be interested to see Shenzhen from one of the vantage points (Crest Hill? Man Kam To?).
Mr Wall will be minuting separately about media arrangements. I shall minute again about Mrs Hurd's programme when I have had a chance to speak to her.
