NOTIFICATION OF LOSS AND DAMAGE SUFFERED BY UK NATIONALS AND
COMPANIES IN KUWAIT AND IRAQ

I attach a recent exchange of minutes with Legal
Advisers on this subject.
2. It seems clear that the definition of a UK national (for
the purposes of SCR 674 (1990)) includes all those persons
who, under the BNA 1981, are British Nationals.
Furthermore, "their corporations" also include those incorporated in the dependent territories.

3. We are now in a position to answer Hong Kong's enquiry (see teleletter of 3 November attached). I would, however,
be grateful for your comments on the method of collection of
information as referred to by Mr Fifoot in para 2 of his
minute. Can you agree to the Hong Kong Government acting on
behalf of NTCD in collecting the necessary information?

to amend the notice to indicate that it is also applicable to the Dependent Territories? This would be tidier and less
likely to create misunderstanding, although if the
applicability of the form were made clear to applicants in
the DTS, then there might not be a difficulty.
