3. Mr Kovacs raised the question of Hong Kong's relations with Hungary.

He said that when he had visited London in

November 1989 he had received an encouraging answer on the

question of greater Hungarian representation in Hong Kong.

Hungary wanted to open a commerical office or a consulate.

Mr Tait said that he believed this question had been

addressed during the visit of the Secretary of State to

Hungary. He agreed to look into this question and to ensure

that a reply had now been sent.
