The Embassy of the Republic of Hungary presents its compliments to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and with

reference to the previous official requests presented on

different levels and the favourable British reactions

concerning the matter mentioned before, has the honour

to inform them as follows.

Considering the so happily existing commercial and

economic relations and for the further development of the

mutually advantageous cultural and human relations between

the Republic of Hungary and Hong Kong, and in accordance

with the international agreements, the Government of the Republic of Hungary plans to establish a Consular Mission in Hong Kong in the forthcoming years.

Furthermore the Embassy of the Republic of Hungary

has the honour to request the Foreign and Commonwealth

Office to take the necessary measures towards the

competent British authorities in order to secure the

official preliminary agreement in principle to establish

a Hungarian Consular Mission in Hong Kong.

The Embassy of the Republic of Hungary avails itself of this opportunity to renew to the Foreign and Commonwealth

Office the assurance of its highest consideration.
