1. As you are aware, we are holding political talks with senior officials of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade

(DFAT) in the FCO on 20 February. They will take place in room

/ WH 240 starting at 1000 hours. I attach a sheet which gives the

proposed agenda and shows how we intend to structure the talks.

I also attach a list of the Australian delegation, which is to be

led by Mr Peter Field, a Deputy Secretary at the DFAT. I am most

grateful for your agreement to participate in the talks on the

subjects for which you are responsible.
