he ceases to be registered as an elector under

this Ordinance;

(i) while a member of the Legislative Council, he is

elected as such a member in a by-election held

under section 5H or is elected as an elected

Member under section 3 or 11 of the Legislative

Council (Electoral Provisions) Ordinance (Cap.

381);

he dies; or

(k) he becomes disqualified or ceases to hold office

for any other reason.

5G.

Declaration of casual vacancy

Where the office of a member elected to the Legislative

Council becomes vacant under section 5F, the Governor shall, by

notice published in the Gazette within 21 days after the

vacancy has come to his knowledge, declare that a vacancy

exists in the Legislative Council.

5H.

Election to fill casual vacancy

(1) Subject to subsection (2), where the Governor makes a

declaration under section 5G in respect of any constituency, a
