New Hong Kong Alliance

Formed in March 1989. Comprises mainly LegCo and DB

members, members of the Progressive HK Society and core members

of the Group of 89. Dominated by the latter group of

professionals and businessmen. Key spokesman is T.S. Lo, former

Executive and Legislative Councillor. Has publicly stated that

it is not meant be a political party. Its aim is to work

compromise of conflicting interests

actively for the

community and to influence government policies with which it

does not agree.

Attracted a lot of public attention recently

because of its proposal for establishment of a bicameral

legislature.
