firmly believe that speaking out for democracy and freedom should never be restricted by Selectively applying a rarely enforced statute. We therefore respectfully request the Hong Kong Government not to be engaged in actions that would further aggravate the confidence crisis of Hong Kong. Furthermore, we urge Your Excellency to ensure the basic social and political freedoms of Hong Kong citizens in the lead-up to 1997, and not to succumb to any political pressure from the Chinese Government that seeks to suppress our rights.
