One area where we would find it useful to have little more information is with regard to the postings of senior

I would be grateful if you could make arrangmeents: for us to be given advance notice of all forthcoming postings) at say the rank of Deputy Director or Deputy Secretary and above. We do not need very much notice but it will help us to keep our records up to date and Ministers informed of any significant postingsThis is not intended as the thin end of the wedge leading to our vetting your postings! As far as we are concerned these are except for a handful of senior ones. on which we are already consulted entirely up to the Hong Kong Government I would be grateful for your comments on these ideas.
