However, other areas of Sir Y K Pao's work continue

uninterrupted. For example, the Sir Y K Pao foundation helps to fund the Sino-British Friendship Scholarship Scheme, which is also partly funded by the ODA and the Chinese State Education Commission. This scheme continues

to bring about 320 students a year to the UK to study. Sir Y K Pao is also a trustee of the Cambridge Overseas Trust, which is chaired by the Prince of Wales. The purpose of the Trust is to promote the placing of overseas students at Cambridge University.

Sir Y K Pao is well known to the Prime Minister. She

agreed to contribute a foreword to a biography about him by Robin Hutcheon (which will be published in Hong Kong in mid-July).
