The British High Commission present the compliments

to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and have the honour

on instructions to refer to the sentence of death

Kong. Capital punishment was abolished many years ago

in Britain. No death sentences have been carried out in

Hong Kong for many years, and drug trafficking is not a

the hope that, in considering whether to grant clemency,

the Agong will give full weight to these considerations

and to whatever extenuating circumstances there may have

been.

In putting forward these points the High Commission have,

of course, no reason whatever to suggest that

and

·

they should not have been sentenced in accordance with

Malaysian law.

The High Commission avail themselves of this opportunity to

renew to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs the assurances

of their highest consideration.
