are however a number of countries whose attendance we consider important and many of these are from the developing world. We have drawn up a list of priority countries whose attendance we would be prepared in principle to help finance in order to secure their attendance. Information Department have agreed to make 15 Category I and 15 Category II sponsored visit places available. The Home Office have also agreed to help fund the costs of some participants and the ODA are investigating whether they can also help. If necessary, further funds may be found from the sponsored visit programme or from AUS Programme Budgets. The final list of countries which would receive such assistance will depend on the response from governments and the funds which can be made available and we would be under no commitment to fund attendance from any particular government.
