Indonesian vernacular considered essential to reinforce view
that UK supports free speech and uncensored reporting and
maintain UK image as a credible world power.
Increase would have negligeable effect, decreases would shift
audience to Radio Australia and be seen as sign of
diminishing UK interest.
Singapore:
To all intents and purposes, no BBC vernacular service in Singapore. WS(E) retransmitted locally on VHF.
