An Ordinance to amend the Broadcasting Authority Ordinance.

[21 July 1989]

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof.

Short title

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Broadcasting Authority (Amendment) Ordinance 1989.

Interpretation

2. Section 2 of the Broadcasting Authority Ordinance (Cap. 391) is amended by repealing the definitions of "broadcasting", "Code of Practice", "licence" and

"licensee" and substituting—

"broadcasting" means—

(a) in relation to sound broadcasting, transmitting sound (otherwise than as part of a television broadcast) for general reception by means of radio waves;

(b) in relation to the Television Ordinance (Cap. 52), transmitting wireless

television;

"Code of Practice" means—

(a) in relation to sound broadcasting, a Code of Practice issued by the

Authority under section 19;
