Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof.

Short title and commencement

1. (1) This Ordinance may be cited as the Telecommunication (Amendment) Ordinance 1989.

(2) This Ordinance shall come into operation on a day to be appointed by the Governor by notice published in the Gazette and different days may be so appointed for different provisions and for different purposes.

Power of Governor in Council to grant licences

2.

Section 7 of the Telecommunication Ordinance (Cap. 106) is amended by repealing "The Governor" and substituting "Subject to Part IIIA, the Governor".

New Part IIIA added

3. The following Part is added after section 13—
