POSSIBLE INTERVIEW BY THE SECRETARY OF STATE WITH THE BBC WORLD SERVICE
HONG KONG:
1.
As
Lord Glenarthur has considered Mr Paul's submission of 10 February and endorses its recommendations. He thinks that, provided a suitable peg can be found, an interview by the Secretary of State on the World Service would be helpful. suggested, confirmation of our resettlement offer for 1,000 boat people would be a suitable peg. On timing, Lord Glenarthur thinks that the right next step is for the Governor to be consulted during his forthcoming visit.
