7.2.

Ever since its inception in 1963, CR2 has been

associated with YOUTH. The Youth in Hong Kong are well

known for their versatility. Their desire for change,

insofar as musical tastes are concerned, is well known.

This Station not merely reflects their changing tastes, but

at times establishes new formats as a leader. Of late,

Add

its success in this regard has been phenomenal a 60% increase

in audience size within a six-month period. But it has been

the successful development of a concept together with a

flexibility of application that has given it this result.

The Station intends to continue within its existing

programme philosophy of cultivating local pop culture, while

taking into consideration the expected changes in the next

few years.

Composers and artists of Pop in the neighbouring

areas are steadily emerging and in the years ahead, CR2 will

avail itself with this new pool of talent and their works.

8.

We are acting on the assumption that if we are to

be granted a licence, there will be available to us 3 VHF/FM

and 2 AM frequencies. If such an assumption is valid, then

it is our intention to carry on FM/AM simulcasts with our

Chinese Services.. CRE will then only be on FM.

CRE's listeners are those most apt to listen to the

new local BBC Service, to subscribe to cable, and, if DBS is

available, to turn on those audio channels available through

Satellite transmissions.
