Special Projects
The Thai section sends a weekly package of Special Projects to the Assistant Information Officer at the British Embassy in Bangkok for rebroadcast on local radio stations. Material is taken from programmes already broadcast on shortwave, namely: Science, Economics and Saturday Magazine, with a strong emphasis on social and cultural affairs. Ideas are also featured in every programme. The duration of each package is about 20 minutes.
Currently the AIO at the British Embassy in Bangkok has a list of about 38 radio stations around the country, (mainly under the the Thai Government Public Relations Dept.) to whom she sends a copy of the programme. Under the present arrangement we send her a master tape and she dubs it onto cassette for distribution.
