1. At the end of last year, we compiled a list of upbeat quotations from the British press in 1984 to serve as possible background to draw on in answering the spate of rather negative articles in the

press at the time.

I have now completed a similar exercise with the Hong Kong and international press. I attach a copy of this list for all addressees. Further copies will be circulated in Hong Kong
