Release of the Foreign Affairs Committee Report. The nationality aspect of the report is dismissed by local leaders as a "one of the most dishonourable statements ever made about Hong Kong".

Sir Geoffrey Howe arrives in HK for a 3-day visit.

- Rally at the airport organized by the Hong

Kong People Saving Hong Kong Campaign. 50,000 participate.

- 20,000 people take part in a rally at Victoria

Park before marching to GH.

- About 300 people stage a sit-in outside GH.

- More than 1,000 expatriates stage a protest in Central in support of HK people's demand for right of abode.

The Goddess of Democracy statute is moved from Victoria Park to Shatin.
