Reshuffle of Chinese leadership announced. JIANG Zemin appointed

as the General Secretary of CCP. LI Peng remains as Premier. SONG Ping, LI Ruihuan, LI Tieying appointed to the Standing Committee of the Politburo. ZHAO Ziyang dismissed from his post as General Secretary of the CCP. HU Qili, RUI Xingwen and YAN Mingfu also

removed from office.
