in proportion to the number of graves of civilians who died in

Stanley Internment Camp during the last war and are buried in this

cemetery.

Under clause 8 it appears that the HKG before 1997 and thereafter the HKSARG is obliged to continue to contribute to the maintenance

cost of Stanley cemetery for as long as it is used for the

stipulated purpose.

If the Deeds were to be replaced by leases, the present arrangements regarding the maintenance cost in respect of the cemetery at Stanley should be maintained and the agreement recorded, possibly by an exchange of letters. The agreement should provide that either side may in future propose a review of the arrangements

provided specified adequate notice has been given.
