ROAD TRAFFIC (AMENDMENT) (NO. 2)

(2) Section 3(2) is amended--

(a) by repealing "and 12A" and substituting ", 12A and 121”; and

(b) by repealing "and XII" and substituting ", XII and XIII”.

Application of Ordinance to village vehicles

5. Section 4A is amended-

(a) in subsection (1), by repealing "(2) and" and substituting "(2), (2A) and”; (b) in subsection (2), by adding "except as provided by subsection (2A)”

after "disqualification"; and

(c) by adding after subsection (2)—

"(2A) The provisions of this Ordinance relating to driving licences and disqualification shall apply to and in relation to-

(a) driving licences specified in regulations made under sec-

tion 1ŽA(1)(da)(ii); and

(b) persons holding such specified driving licences,

as if a golf cart were a vehicle of the class of vehicle which may be driven on a road by a person by virtue of being the holder of such a specified driving licence.".

Regulation of traffic

6. Section 11 is amended by adding after paragraph (a)—

"(aa) the imposing, whether by the Commissioner or otherwise, of require- ments on owners of private roads in relation to the erection, placing, operation, maintenance, alteration and removal of permanent, tem- porary and variable traffic signs and road markings on or near such roads;

(ab) the Commissioner to cause any matter the subject of a requirement referred to in paragraph (aa) imposed on the owner of a private road to be done, and to recover from the owner as a civil debt the cost thereof; (ac) the Commissioner to specify traffic signs and road markings which may be erected or placed on or near any private road without a permit issued under this Ordinance;".

Regulation of village vehicles

7. Section 12A(1) is amended by adding after paragraph (d)—

"(da) in the case of village vehicles which are golf carts-

(i) the specification by the Commissioner of conditions on village vehicle permits relating to the maximum number of passengers which may be carried on such vehicles; and

(ii) the prohibition of the driving and use of such vehicles on such roads as are specified in the regulations except by persons who are holders of such driving licences as are specified in the regulations;".
