Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof.

Short title and commencement

1. (1) This Ordinance may be cited as the Road Traffic (Amendment) (No. 2) Ordinance 1988.

(2) This Ordinance shall come into operation on a day to be appointed by the Governor by notice in the Gazette.

Long title amended

2. The long title to the Road Traffic Ordinance (Cap. 374) is amended by adding "(including private roads)” after “roads”.

Interpretation

3.

Section 2 is amended-

(a) by adding after the definition of “educational institution"

"golf cart" means a motor vehicle having an overall length not exceeding 3.2 metres and an overall width not exceeding 1.2 metres constructed or intended for use for the carriage of passengers on golf courses, in addition to the carriage of a driver;";
