1. The Secretary of State has accepted invitation from Lord Prior, Chairman of GEC to dinner on Thursday, 4 January. The other guests will be Lord Weinstock (Managing Director) and Mr Lippitt (Exports Director).

2. We have already commissioned briefing on major project

and Aid issues involving GEC from PEP, DTI and APD. If however

there are any other current problems involving GEC of

which you think the Secretary of State should be aware,

should be grateful for points to make and background by Friday 22 December. Nil returns are not required.
