1. I attach a copy of an extract from the Lords Hansard Juki in column 940 of which you will see that Lord Glenarthur undertook to look into a question from Lord Stanley of Alderley about whether HM ships may stop vessels which are believed to be carrying "illegal" ivory. I should be grateful for your advice on the legal aspects of this question, for incorporation into a prospective draft reply from Lord Glenarthur.
