BACKGROUND

During the past 12 months Mr Banks has asked a large number of

questions about detailed arrangements for the enforcement in Hong

Kong of CITES resolutions. The latest eight questions follow up

the main areas in which he has previously expressed interest, and

seek statistical information on Hong Kong's enforcement efforts.

They break no new ground.
