AFRICAN ELEPHANT WORKING GROUP:

HONG KONG REPRESENTATION

We spoke this afternoon about the request from Hong Kong to the CITES Secretariat to provide funds to allow a Hong Kong Government representative to attend the second meeting of the AEWG.

I attach the relevant correspondence.

I have sympathy with the WWFU and agree that Hong Kong representation is crucial in view of the Hong Kong Ivory

Trade interest.
