Thank you for your letter of 13 January regarding inward investment to Hong Kong.

It is indeed encouraging that British investment in the Hong Kong manufacturing sector continues to grow, both in terms of value and proportion of total foreign investment in Hong Kong.

Nevertheless, I am in complete agreement that we should do more to promote a positive attitude from British industry. understand that my officials are already in contact with yours to draw up a shortlist of influential figures and to identify the best approach for publishing articles of the type you propose.
