(a) of promoting the efficient and orderly conduct of the Hong

Kong securities and futures markets;

(b) further to secure the integrity of the participants in such

markets;

(c) better to protect the investing public; and

(d) to assist the development of such markets,

there is hereby established a body to be known as the Securities and

Futures Commission.

(2)

The Commission shall be a body corporate with power to sue

and be sued.

Functions of Commission

4. (1) The Commission shall have the following functions

(a)

to advise the Financial Secretary on all matters relating

to securities, the purchase or sale of commodities for spot

delivery or for deferred shipment or delivery and trading

in commodity futures contracts;
