authorized person or police officer has reasonable cause
believe may be required for the purposes of the inspection
or investigation and which is in his possession or under
his control;
prohibit any person mentioned in paragraph (a) from
(i) removing from the premises so specified any record
or other document produced pursuant to a requirement under
paragraph (a);
(ii) erasing, adding to or otherwise altering any entry
or other particular contained in, or otherwise interfering
in any manner whatsoever with, or causing or permitting any
other person to interfere with, any such record or other
document;
any
(c) take, in relation to any such record or other document,
other step which may appear necessary for preserving them
and preventing interference with them.
(3) Any record or other document removed under this section may
be retained for any period not exceeding the period of 6 months
beginning on the day of its removal or, where the record or other
document is required in connection with any criminal proceedings, for
such longer period as may be necessary for the purposes of those
proceedings.
