I have to admit that the question I was asked to answer in this speech has not been answered, and I make no excuse for that. The future is the stuff of the present and the present consists of so many interwoven strands that they are impossible to untangle. It doesn't take much of a prophet to tell you that we are facing a very, very difficult ten years. But nowadays ten years is a long, long time, and there are so many things that can happen between now and the year 2000 that all I can tell you is to hope for the best, plan for the worst, and while the sun shines, make some hay. And the most important thing of all to remember is that God only helps those who helps themselves!
