(3) Appoint a Naval Commander to the staff of the JFC if required.

AOCINCSTC is to:

(1) Retain operational command of Air forces temporarily assigned to the operation.

(2) Retain operational control of Air forces temporarily assigned to the operation but operating outside the JFC's area of responsibility. Operational control of these forces may be delegated to the appropriate Group Commander.

(3) Depending on the nature of the air involvement, appoint an Air Commander or Air adviser to the staff of the JFC.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

109. HM Ambassador/British High Commissioner in the Country to be Evacuated.

a.

Warns the FCO of the possible need for an evacuation and advices on the despatch of a MILO to the area.

b.

Initiates request for an evacuation (paragraph 43).

C.

Provides intelligence (paragraph 47) as required.

d.

Advises the OCR on the conduct of the evacuation.

e.

Advises on medical hazards (paragraph 87).

f.

Arranges screening of applicants for evacuation.

9. Arranges presentation of Forms K29 - Undertaking to Repay - for signature by evacuees (paragraph 62).

h. Coordinates provision of local resources of transport, accommodation, equipment, fuel and water (paragraph 84).

i. Where local resources are inadequate, requests inclusion of packages for refugee administration (paragraph 84 and Annex G).

j.

Liaise with other in-country Embassies/Representatives whose nationals may be involved in the evacuation (paragraph 18).

a. Arranges the provision of local resources as required for the support of the Force.
