(2) The Chinook can carry up to 42 passengers and the Puma up to 12 passengers, with 44 lbs (20 kg) of baggage per person (16 without baggage). Chinook overload capacity is 80 passengers.
(3) Self ferry ranges are:

Self ferrying is an option to be considered for some SAE in the Mediterranean area.
(4) The Puma is air transportable in Hercules aircraft. However, 20 hours are required for preparation and loading, and an additional 25 hours for unloading and re-assembly. The Chinook is not transportable in ATF aircraft, but it can be carried in civil Belfast aircraft, with 17 hours for breakdown and 35 hours for reassembly. The USAF C5A Galaxy can carry 3 Chinook with a minimum breakdown.
36. Supporting Elements. Personnel and equipment, including elements of Mobile Servicing Section (MSS), Mobile Air Movements Squadron (MAMS) teams and Air Management Radio Detachments and RAF Police for Air Transport security duties (Air and Ground) and when appropriate, ad hoc Mobile Air Traffic Control Teams (including Air Operations Teams (MAOT)), No 1 Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron (No 1 Air Evac Sqn) and Tactical Supply Wing, will be deployed as detailed in the Joint Staff Table of the relevant Part 2 plan. These personnel will normally be under the control of a Detachment Commander appointed by AOC 1 Group. Large scale operations may require a Joint Movement Coordination Centre to be established.
37. Aeromedical Evacuation. ATF aircraft can operate in an aeromedical evacuation role. Strike Command also has a specialist aeromedical evacuation unit - No 1 Air Evac Sqn which is manned and equipped to receive patients from mobile field or other hospitals, prepare them for air evacuation and accompany them in the evacuating aircraft. No 1 Air Evac Sqn has a temporary holding capability of up to 200 patients at an overseas airfield. In the aeromedical role, the VC10 can carry up to 66 stretchers and a medical team of 6; the Hercules CMk1 can carry 74 stretchers, and the CMk3 88, with teams of 4 and 6 respectively.
38. Communications. Strike Command provides mobile RAF communication detachments to provide facilities for the control and management of RAF aircraft.
