Para 10a.
The selection of the deployment air route may depend on diplomatic clearances obtained in the time available before the operation is to be mounted. The advice of MOD (D Cts Staff) and the FCO (Defence Dept) should be sought.
11. Para 10b. Major airfields may be checked in the RAF En Route Supplement. Smaller airfields and airstrips should be checked with HQ STC who will advise on any operational limitations which should be included in the notes to the JTP. Again, it would be advisable to check with the post, through the FCO, on the current state of airfields in the country concerned.
12. Para 10c. MOD (D Cts Staff) or HQ STC will advise on the selection of suitable Reception Airfields. In addition, the FCO (Defence Dept) may need to be consulted (through MOD (D Cts Staff)) if there are likely to be pro- blems over diplomatic clearance to use a particular airfield. The availa- bility of aviation fuel can be confirmed by S Pol 28d (RAF) and aircraft parking space by DI 35 or HQ STC.
