COMMUNICATIONS TO BE PROVIDED

40. Requirements. The maximum anticipated requirement of Services provided communications for SAE operation are given in paragraphs 44-49 below. Communications required will be confirmed at the time a plan is implemented. A recommended scale of communications for each operation is included in the relative Part 2 plan.

41. Communication Diagram. An outline Communication Diagram is at Appendix 1. Diagrams for each individual operation are included in Part 2 plans.

42. Schedule of Circuits. A Schedule of Circuits, Section 1 - General Detail, Section 2 - Engineering Detail and Section 3 - Reserve Frequencies is at Appendix 2. This Schedule is common with those included at Annex C to JTP 121, and therefore shows the total circuit requirement for SAE and SPE operations. Not all of these circuits would be needed for a single SAE operation, but they are included so as to cover the most demanding case. The schedule is applicable to all Part 2 plans.

44. Joint Communications. HQ UKLF will provide the following communications, as required:

Satellite Communications.

(1) CRL(S). A CRL(S) (UK/TSC 502) detachment to establish CRL(S) from the OCR to RAF Oakhanger or RSRE Defford, as instructed by the CDCN, providing a secure speech and either one (PRK mode) or two (CDMA Mode) secure telegraph channels. The secure speech channel is to be extended to the UKZE, one secure telegraph channel to the TARE at COMMCEN Boddington and the other secure (CDMA mode only) to RAF Upavon to provide an AMT channel. Should it be necessary to employ PRK mode of operation, a second SATCOM station may need to be deployed to provide the AMT telegraph channel. Coordinating instructions will be in accordance wtih DNCP No 7, CRLIS, Section 4, CRLI Nos 412 to 419.

(2) UK Termination. CDCN will issue instructions for the termination of SATCOM links in the UK at RAF Oakhanger or RSRE Defford and for the extension of the speech and telegraph channels in sub-paragraph (1) above.

HF Radio Communications.

(1) CRL(HF)Lt. A CRL(HF) Lt detachment to establish a secure single channel CRL (HF) between the OCR and a DCN Anchor station as instructed by CDCN. Details of the circuit will be given in the Communications Annex to Part 2 Plans. Coordinating instructions will be in accordance with DNCP No 7, CRLIS, Section 2.

CRL (HF) Med. In the event of SATCOM not being available, a CRL (HF) Med detachment to establish a secure multi channel CRL (HF)
