APPENDIX 2 TO ANNEX F TO
JTP 1 (9TH REVISE)
PROVISION, STORAGE, CONTROL AND ISSUE OF MAPS IN SUPPORT OF JOINT THEATRE PLANS
GENERAL
1.
Map Plans for survey support are to be included in all Part 2 SPE plans and others as considered necessary as an Annex A to the Joint Theatre Plan. The aim of survey support will be to provide:
a. Reserve stocks of maps and air charts for deployment for:
(1) MOD.
(2)
CINCFLEET.

b.
(3) HQ UKLF.
(4) HQ STC.
Rapid response printing and distribution of new mapping and operational overprints during the preparation for mounting an operation.
C.
If the quantity or sensitivity of the mapping requires it, the provision of a map supply detachment to:
(1) Assemble Command stocks and issue maps at a deployment base.
(2) Liaise with local mapping agencies for the procurement and issue of local mapping to supplement deployed stocks.
Subject to the variations in individual JTPS and to the availability of mapping, the following types of mapping will be provided:
a.
A single sheet small scale map covering the whole country, for general planning and briefing purposes.
b. Scale 1:1,000,000 and 1:500,000 air charts (Series TPC and ONC). Total country cover.
c.
Scale 1:250,000 to cover JTP entry, collection and evacuation points (75 km radius), connecting routes between points and up to 8 km either side of the route. (Series 1501 (Air) and 1501 (Ground).)
d.
Scale 1:50,000 to cover JTP entry, collection and evacuation points:
