SUPPORT PROVIDED BY CBF CYPRUS

Provided that the situation is Cyprus is stable the following facilities will be available if Akrotiri is used as an FMB.

Transport. The following additional vehicles will be required:

(1) 15,000 gallon water bowser or equivalent.

(2) One 4 ton HIAB.

(3) Six trailers LR 5 ton airtransportable.

Ground Fuels. Ground fuel requirements should be available from local contractors but only 1 x 12,000 litre Truck Tanker Fuel is held. An MT Gas reserve of 61,600 gallons is held.

Aviation Fuels. 6,000 gallons of AVTUR is held for Army/RN hels.

Rations. The existing contracts for local procurement could be expanded. The following stocks exist:

(1) Reserve. 95,000 composite rations and 75,000 tinned equivalent.

Peace Stocks. 60 days of dry items (including 30 days safety stocks) and 75 days of refrigerated items including 45 days safety stocks) are normally held although stocks could be reduced to minimum holdings of 30 and 40 days respectively.

Hospital Facilities. The Princess Mary's RAF Hospital at Akrotiri has a 60-bed peacetime capacity and an additional 110 emergency beds.

Dhekelia facility has a peacetime capacity of 14 beds which can be expanded to accommodate an extra 50 beds.

Civil Labour. It should be possible to provide all the civil labour required.

Where necessary, CBF Cyprus will request augmentation of the facilities at RAF Akrotiri by reference to the serial numbers at Annex B.
