brief the Committee under Agenda Item 3.
7. Paragraph ic Future Military Helicopter Force. The
Chairman said that the date for reduction of the Scout
helicopter force from 8 to 6 aircraft would remain as after
Sep 89 with the disposal of the 2 reserve aircraft being
addressed under agenda Item 4. The Wessex force would reduce
from 8 to 6 in Sep 89. These reductions were reflected in
the Withdrawal Plan. The meeting would also address the
establishment level for Wessex aircrew under Agenda Item 5.
The Chairman sought CBF Hong Kong's assurance that the
minimum number of Wessex required under the new Concept of
Operations would remain as 4 airframes. On behalf CBF, SO2
J3 Ops and Plans recommended that the outcome of the 1989
HQ BFHK Helicopter Study should not be pre-judged. The
Chairman accepted this recommendation.
8. Decision. There having been no further observations and
no objections, the Committee agreed that the Minutes of the
previous meeting should be approved as originally published.

9. The Chairman invited the FCO to brief the meeting on
what was a complex issue.
